John J. Bench


John joined the firm as an Associate in 2014 and is based in the Cranberry office. His practice primarily involves real-estate acquisition, title, development, and use. This includes representing both real-estate developers and individuals in property acquisitions, governmental approvals, financing, and the sale and leasing of property. As part of his real-estate practice, John represents landowners in negotiating and drafting oil and gas leases. John is a Member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Shale Energy Law Committee.

In addition to his real-estate practice, John practices litigation on behalf of his corporate and individual clients and advises clients on business-creation and development matters.

Prior to joining the firm, John spent three years as an associate at a small general practice in the North Hills. He then spent five years in-house, supporting asset-management and compliance departments for FDIC and OneWest Bank, located in Pasadena, California, where he worked with Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin.

John earned a B.S.B.A in Finance with a minor in History from the University of Pittsburgh, and his J.D. from the University of Akron, which he attended on a Board of Trustees full-tuition scholarship.

John is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Allegheny and Butler County Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania courts, and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He lives in Adams Township.
